DR. PAULO EGYDIO IS AN INTERNATIONAL REFERENCE IN THE UROGENITAL FIELD, ESPECIALLY IN PENILE DIAGNOSIS AND TREATMENTS. THOUSANDS OF CLINICAL AND SURGICAL PROCEDURES PERFORMED.
As mentioned on the Blog, Hypospadias is a congenital malformation of the urethra and the penis, in which the urinary opening (called meatus) is not located on the glans. When compared to a normal penis, the meatus can be located below the glans, next to the anus (perineum) or in any other area within the length of the urethra. Incidence is 1 every 300 newborn boys.
Hypospadias correction is possible and safe, but it may not always be indicated during childhood. When a child is diagnosed with the disorder, the most important thing is monitoring how the case evolves, with an expert pediatrician. As the patient reaches adulthood, erections become more constant and the penis could develop some kind of curvature. That is the best moment to correct Hypospadias, which is often related to a downwards deformity during an erection.
Dr. Egydio is an expert in repairing this kind of deformity in adults. In all cases it’s necessary to perform a previous evaluation to define the best treatment. However, once diagnosed, it’s possible to correct both curvature and Hypospadias in the same procedure. The solution demands a geometrically determined incision model and applied on an erect penis during surgery, according to the published concepts of the Egydio Technique. Watch the video demonstrating how the surgery is performed, taking into consideration the limit of vessels and nerves in order to obtain the best straightening, girth and lengthening result.

For cases of curvature in just one side, rectifies without reducing size of the penis
Each penis has a different anatomy; not always the solution is just lengthening the short side
On an adult patient it's posible to correct both deformities in the same procedure
